Return of the Hippie

Lady_meditation
I read an article written by a young woman who proclaims to be a modern day hippie.

I found myself agreeing with a lot of what she had to say, such as;

"I believe in the power of art to change the world."

"I believe in taking time to meditate."

"I believe that it's important to be alone sometimes."

"I believe in spirituality more than religion."

"I believe that the point of life is to be happy for as much time as you can."

"I believe that happiness comes from within and not from outside circumstances."

"Staring at the moon and stars reminds me of my origins...and how small we all really are."

I understand but could not agree with her on the following:

"Standing in the rain for hours lets me let go and focus on my senses--the way the rain feels as it hits my skin, the way it sounds, smells, etc."

I tend to seek shelter when it rains.  I found the following statement to be just plain ridiculous;

"It's cool to think about how every atom in our bodies came from a star that exploded around 6 billion years ago."

Then I did some research and you know what? She may be right.
