No, Maybe, Yes!
One of my biggest customers said "no thanks," the first time I introduced him to SendOutCards. "How would you like to make extra money without selling anything?" I asked. "No thanks!" he replied. I ran into him the very next day and thanked him for being upfront. In other words I thanked him for saying no. He looked a little surprised. Was he expecting that his decision would have an impact on our friendship? I ran into him again and he asked me to explain exactly what it was that I was doing. I was about to start "babbling" about the business when I remembered what I learned during my first week of Fast Track to Eagle training; "don't try to explain SendOutCards...let the tools do the talking". I couldn't show him the DVD so I whipped out a greeting card with a picture of my grandson Brayden on it. "This is what I do," I said. "I create and send greeting cards online. It cost about a buck to send that card." He held the card and looked it over. Within a minute he "got it". Within 5 minutes he had a business plan in mind. I let him do the talking. "Does it have a contact manager," he asked. "Yes!" I replied. "How much do the cards cost?...Can I create cards with my own designs?...Can I order in bulk?" I was able to answer his questions easily. An hour and twenty questions later we were shaking hands and contemplating our bright futures. One of the top leaders said that once someone "gets it" they're not listening to you anymore. So SHUT UP! Just show the business, let the tools do what they were designed to do, and if they "get it" great and if they don't, it's no big deal. Just focus on the activity of sharing this wonderful opportunity and move on.
