Johnnie Oh and the Scarlet Portent

I remember as a kid going to the movies and standing in the theater foyer gazing at the movie posters and stills.  I also remember standing in the drug store gazing at the comic book covers. I remember asking my Mom if she'd buy me the Space Ghost comic book at the news stand as we waited at the bus stop. That was a pivotal moment in my life.  Thanks Mom! I guess that explains why I do the things I do.   These are the things I use to do the things I do...

This is the final chapter in the Johnnie Oh and the Scarlet Portent saga. It's presented in 3 parts.  Here's part 1;

FADE IN: INT. HOLDING CELL - DAY - We switch to Plume's secret lair where a heavily sedated Sammy Strong is being held captive.  It is known only by a select few that Sammy is the strongest person on the planet.  His strength, in fact, is Herculean.  In his present condition his strength is equal to that of, let's say, a highly conditioned athlete. He is blindfolded and strapped to a padded, metal gurney.  A beam of sunlight enters through a skylight in the ceiling far above. Eva Wong, occasionally conjoined Siamese twin sister of assassin, Tera Wong - enters the holding cell.

SAMMY STRONG: Eva…what do you want?

EVA WONG (surprised): How did you know it was me?

SAMMY STRONG: I can smell you.

EVA WONG: You can tell us apart by the way we smell?

SAMMY STRONG: You're not as evil as your sister. There's a putrid essence about her that does not exist in you.

Eva comes closer and caresses one of his muscular arms.

EVA WONG (smiling): I'm not sure if that's a compliment or an insult.

SAMMY STRONG: You should leave this place. Leave these people before it's too late.

EVA WONG: I cannot leave Tera! I love her. When I hurt she hurts. When I'm happy she's happy.

We'd perish if we were apart. Why is it not this way with your brother, Max?

SAMMY STRONG: I never even knew that monster existed before last night.

Eva walks around the table, gently stroking parts of his body while at the same time testing the sturdiness of the straps that contain him.  Sammy turns his head this way and that, keeping track of her position by her scent.

EVA WONG: He plans to kill you tomorrow. Is there anything I can do to comfort you on your last night alive?

Eva straddles his lap.

SAMMY STRONG: Do whatever you want. I'm in no condition to resist you. But do me one favor when you're finished...

EVA WONG: And what is that?

Eva reaches for the drawstring on his sweatpants.

SAMMY STRONG: Tell Kuchi Wannakobe that I love her and was thinking only of her when I made love to you and your sister.

EVA WONG: Now I AM insulted! But I'll give her your message.

Scene fades to black as "Love to Love You Baby" by Donna Summer plays in the background.

INT. NOBONAY'S KITCHEN – NIGHT  Eva Wong is watching Kuchi Wannakobe wash her sushi knives in a huge sink.  Kuchi, a deaf mute, has a pair of headphones on. She is moving back and forth as if in tune with a melody.

EVA WONG: Kuchi, I have something to tell you.

Kuchi doesn't hear her. Eva remembers something about a hearing problem.  Exasperated and determined to get this over with as quickly as possible, she stomps toward Kuchi.  Just as she's about to tap her on the shoulder, Kuchi turns around (quickly) with a blank expression on her face. "What," Eva thinks to herself, "does Sammy see in this crazy b***h?"  Kuchi smiles a sly smile...it's as if she can hear Eva's thoughts.  Eva notices that Kuchi has a knife. It is pointing toward the floor and wet, soapy drops are forming into a wet, soapy puddle.  Eva takes a step back to give herself room just in case it comes down to a fight.  The blank expression returns to Kuchi's face and she puts the knife on the counter well out of reach.  She bows slightly to show that she has no ill intentions.

EVA WONG: I have a message for you from Sammy Strong. He's moving to San Francisco to be with me and Tera. We're opening our own restaurant.  He wanted to let you know that he's sorry for the way things worked out.  I'm sorry too. My sister…well…you know how she is.

It's an awkward moment for both of them made even more awkward when Kuchi walks up and hugs her. "That was a little weird," Eva thought to herself as she made her way back to the limo that would take her back to Plume's lair.  Kuchi ran to a concealed garage where she hopped on a custom Ninja motorcycle, fired it up, and raced to Boney Island.

Part 2 - Man Up or Shut Up! coming in June 2011
